Installation of Bridge Bearing and Expansion Joints

Expansion joints are one of the most important elements of a bridge or viaduct and improving the life of the structure . The objective of an expansion joint on a bridge or viaduct is to allow relative movements between two parts of the structure and must ensure its own seal , also al lowing a smooth transition for road traff ic. Globally different types of joints, depending on the traff ic they support, the type of structure in which they are installed, are installed etc. making a correct choice thereof, is essential , for optimum operation result.

ELASTOMERIC EXPANISION JOINTS

Neoprene joints are reinforced elastomeric rubber profiles having internal reinforcing steel armatures. Such boards are an chored to the lips of the board by resin anchor bolts.

Metal profiles: reinforced neo prene gaskets with internal metal sections are valid for medium to large movements' moderately heavy traffic.

MRI is the installer of elastomer ic expansion jo ints approved by the Spanish manufacturer Trelleborg .

MODULAR EXPANISION JOINTS

The modular boards can be used in all types of bridges and viaducts, regardless of their movements . Installa tion is technica lly complex and requires a thorough planning process, along with a highly qualified staff.

Its durability is very high, even under intensive use and allows a maximum degree of tightness.

MRI is installer of modular expansion jo ints ap proved of the German manufacturer Maurer SE.
